The Moncton Naturalists’ Club held its 42nd Christmas Bird Counts on 20th December 2003. The weather was very pleasant for bird watching. There was little wind with sky clear to partly cloudy. Temperature was –4 to –12. The ground was snow covered with a crust and most water areas were frozen over. 30 Field observers in 12 field parties. (4 zones with not counted) and 4 feeder reports. Total party hours: 84 The Black Capped Chickadees were in abundance. Also counted were Evening Grosbeaks and White-Breasted Nuthatch. Missing notable species
